Foundations of Art (aka "F.Art") class took on Melissa Purtee's newest art game, "Can You Build It?" She uses the activity to introduce students to the Artistic Thinking Process (Inspiration, Development, Creation, Reflect & Present) which aligns with our focus on the National Arts Standards (Create, Present, Respond, Connect) and Studio Habits of Mind. The game has three rounds, Cup Stack, Active Illustration, and Table Mascot or Logo. At the end of each round students present their work and reflect on the process. The challenge took two class periods but students learned more than just how to build a tower with styrofoam cups! Take a look at our process: | |
