Intro 3D students first explored cardboard. They tested out different attachment techniques and tore apart sheets of cardboard to see what the material could do. Then we tried wire with some inspiration from Alexander Calder. Students twisted, braided, bent, cut and wrapped wire to create bracelets, flowers, a partial solar system and even a narwhal.
Intro 2D students focused on drawing and observation skills. They tested out a variety of black and white drawing materials, practiced contour line drawings and blind contour drawings, looked at human body proportions, and practiced value scales and different methods of shading.
