After some inquiry, students brainstormed ideas for what would work best for creating an artwork based on another artist. We learned about appropriation, parody, reproduction and remix. Students were able to decide if they wanted to make something in their style but inspired by their artist or make thier best interpretation of the original.
In the end, artworks included drawings, paintings, prints and even a few sculptures, some serious interpretations, some humorous, but all original and unique to the specific artist and student that created it. Well done!
